I was born in England during May 1965 to a Polish Dad and British Mum (who did more than anyone to make me proud of my Polish heritage). Back then, I guess I considered myself English. Thus in 1973, I supported the English Football team. Then the Polish national team dared to knock the English out of the Football World cup. The next day I was beaten up at school. Since then, I have supported the Polish football team.
You need to know that I am dyslexic thus struggle with languages. Still, I spent much of my youth reading; this includes everything I could get about Poland. I was lucky as when 13 we got a Polish Pope and at 15 Solidarność. As a result, there was for a brief while interest in Poland, resulting in more books being available in shops (the internet was yet to be created).
In my early 20s, I tried to help Poland. Without access to Poles and not knowing Polish, I struggle to help Poland. I drifted away to focus on career, owning a property, and finding a wife. The critical thing to know is I continued to read everything I could about Poland (I have about 1,000 books related to Poland), and I am a Business Intelligence consultant, i.e. this means I understand databases and studying data.
In 2005 I found myself single, with cheap flights to Poland, Polish shops appearing everywhere in the UK, and the internet allowing me to join Polish groups using the English language. Thus, I became involved in the fighting bias against Poles and Poland in the media.
My father’s death in 2013 resulted in me looking after my Mum (elderly, disabled with Alzheimer) who sadly died in 2019. As a result, I was less active. As someone who has dyslexia, I would never have to imagine trying to create this site with all its useful documents and other material. With the encouragement of allies,’ I have created this website. I hope you agree that it has been the wait and a major step forward in the fight against anti-Polonism.
Signed
